In 2012, at the heart of the Yamal Peninsula, the Bovanenkovo Gas Field was launched into operation. The indigenous tribes of reindeer herders must pass through this industrial site, for it is the only way to reach their summer pastures on the Kara Sea. This is a story of people whose lives are closely linked with the lands on which they live and with the traditions of their ancestors, but their futures and even their present become ever more precarious with the arrival of civilization.
